The Municipality of Amsterdam wants to reduce light to save energy, reduce emissions and improve mental heatlh. But also increase light to improve traffic safety and personal safety. Therefore, there is a need to decide between these two objectives. This video elaborates on the influence of urban light (defined by official light sources such as lamppost, as well as unoffical light sources like light commercials), on the mental health, personal safety and traffic safety of citizens. Hopefully, it informs policymakers about the impact of urban light on these aspects.
