PrEP pathways among MSM and transgender persons in Amsterdam: what happens after participation in the national PrEP pilot?
This study aims to gain insights into pathways of PrEP use in Amsterdam by assessing stopping of PrEP and transferring to PrEP use outside of the national PrEP pilot. The underlying and relevant questions are whether people stop PrEP for a “valid” reason, whether they have been at risk for HIV after stopping PrEP, whether re-engagement in care happened in such a situation, and if not, why. In addition, this study will assess the effects of the early COVID lockdown in 2020 on PrEP pathways.
