Processpatching: Defining New Methods in aRt&D

Thesis by Anne Nigten

This article describes the PhD research: Processpatching, ‘Defining new Methods in aRt&D’ that is informed by my work as media art laboratory manager at V2_Lab and my current work as director of The Patching Zone, a new transdisci-plinary lab for innovation.
The study investigates how electronic art patches together processes and meth-ods from the arts, engineering and (computer) science environments. It provides a framework describing the electronic art methods, to improve col-laboration by informing others about one’s artistic research and development approach.
