The embodied carbon emissions of lettuce production (AMS Institute)

SKY HIGH

This paper researches the carbon emission of vertical farming. It is published as part of the SKY HIGH project. The goal of this project is to solve both the growing demand for food production and the greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector, by using vertical farming. Although vertical farming is water efficient, nutrient efficient, highly productive, and does not require herbicides or pesticides, the method needs to be made energy-efficient.
