Dr. Jelle Koopsen researches the characteristics of epidemics to inform public health policies. He joined the GGD Amsterdam as a postdoc in October 2022 after he completed his PhD on the genomic epidemiology of hepatitis C virus and SARS-CoV-2. He now serves as the Coordinator of Genomic Pathogen Surveillance & Epidemiology at the Public Health Laboratory where his work focuses on integrating genomic data into infectious disease surveillance and control, with an emphasis on regional collaboration.
