Bart Wallet

Bart Wallet is assistant professor in political and religious history at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He serves as a director of the HDC Centre for Dutch Religious History at the same university. Moreover, he also lectures in Jewish and Middle Eastern history at the University of Amsterdam. He is specialized in the history and culture of Dutch Jewry, with a PhD dissertation on early modern Yiddish historiography from Amsterdam. He published monographs on the integration of Jews into nineteenth-century Dutch society, the Zeeburg Jewish cemetery, Christianity and antisemitism and the post-war reconstruction of Dutch Jewry.
