The University of Amsterdam has established its Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) to offer outstanding researchers a haven - free from constraints of disciplinary boundaries - where they can work collaboratively on complex scientific and societal challenges.

About the IAS

At the UvA Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) researchers from various disciplines collaboratively develop new methods to get a grip on complex challenges (e.g. health, crime, market stability, inequality). AT5, the local television station of Amsterdam, made a short news item to show the relevance of this type of research for the city
