Energy Lab Zuidoost

Amsterdam is working on a natural gas-free, emission-free and energy-neutral city to reduce CO2 emissions by 95%.

Amsterdam Southeast is going a step further and wants to be energy neutral by 2040. The development of Amsterdam Southeast offers opportunities to combine sustainability with poverty reduction and social improvement. For example, by improving the living comfort of homes when they are renovated. Or by creating local employment during large-scale renovations. We call this a social energy transition.

Achieving this requires cooperation from many different parties. Both from the government and residents, as well as from companies and researchers. The Energie Lab Zuidoost brings these parties together. The aim is to contribute directly to the issues and projects in Amsterdam Southeast with scientific expertise.
