Inequality of opportunity

Each person in Amsterdamer deserves the opportunity to develop himself/herself irrespective of his or her background.

That is one of the main challenges in Amsterdam. In a fair city, everyone has the same opportunities and possibilities, regardless of where you were born, the neighborhood you grew up in and the network around you. People from all income groups, education levels and types of migration background should be able to live, participate, develop and shape their own future in the city.
