Visual Roadmap

As part of Deliverable 1.2 of WP1, led by TU Delft, a ‘Visual Roadmap’ is made to convey findings of the research work done and presented in the reports of Energy characteristics and social challenges, Reduce, Reuse and Produce. The Visual Roadmap could therefore only be completed when the underlying reports had been finished, which is why in this note we present the draft version of the work, to be completed in January 2021.

Part of the activities related to this work was to determine the exact form of the Visual Roadmap. This was discussed between the teams of TU Delft (Andy van den Dobbelsteen, Tess Blom, Siebe Broersma, Leo Gommans, Michiel Fremouw, Maéva Dang, Puji Nata Djaja) and De Gezonde Stad (Juliet van Esch, Jitske van der Goot). Eventually these teams decided to make the Visual Roadmap a set of three posters, which (1) express the current challenges of the Green Light District area, (2) identify the potentials in the area, especially for the energy transition and carbon reduction, and (3) visualise a green, sustainable future.

With this assignment in mind, an analysis of creative, graphical design and illustration offices was done, which resulted in three possible candidates, of which Kars + Boom was selected in December 2020. This office has started working on the Visual Roadmap before Christmas 2020, which draft work is presented in this note.
