Policy Framework for Participation
This policy framework is an official instrument that provides frameworks for the process through which participation in the municipality of Amsterdam takes shape. Legal developments and underlying social developments do not stand still. This policy framework is therefore not a completion but an intermediate step.
In this policy framework, lessons learned from practice are translated into general principles for the policy
participation process. These general principles apply to every participation process, regardless
the shape and size chosen. The lessons learned serve as a basis for this
Municipality of Amsterdam, with the introduction of the participation section, the recent extensive evaluation of nine participation processes and an extensive study by Dr. Nanke Verloo, Urban Citizen Fellow
