Reconstruction and Resistance
Should heritage professionals resist reconstructions? In the case of building elements, gables or interiors they clearly should, because the historical substance of the existing building is at stake. But when it involves the complete reconstruction of something that has been lost through wilful demolition, war or some other calamity, things are not quite so straightforward.
