At night, Amsterdam residents and visitors can participate in and enjoy culture that enriches the city and is an essential part of Amsterdam's image. It is a place where one can discover and be oneself. We want the city to remain attractive and preserved at night for artists, creatives and organizers, and to become even more accessible for everyone who feels at home in the Amsterdam night. In 2021, we were the first city in the Netherlands to formulate an integrated vision on the value and importance of nightlife culture for the city. Diversity, inclusion, social and physical safety and accessibility are important themes. The purpose of the Nightlife Vision was to inventory the most important themes for the sector and the city, so that we can embed nightlife culture more firmly and integrally in municipal policy. This concerns art and culture as well as numerous other policy areas, such as diversity, urban development, economy, traffic, health and public order.
