Brochure: Highlighting the main results of research project about cooperation between social enterprises and local government

In this brochure you will find practical tips and information for better cooperation between social enterprises and local government. Social entrepreneurs and the government both want to solve social problems, for example by helping people with a weak labor market position find a job. So collaboration would make sense. But in practice this does not work well. In fact, 'regulation and government' is one of the bottlenecks in their business operations mentioned by social entrepreneurs. Why is this, and above all: how can this be improved in the future? The Social Entrepreneurship Lab of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) has sought answers to these questions together with social enterprises.
The research was a pilot study with a small group of companies in one area. So the results we present are not universally valid, but we think they certainly contribute to the goal: better cooperation between social enterprises and the local government.
