Citizen science is a form of scientific research that actively involves members of the public in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. This can range from counting backyard birds to analyzing complex data sets using online tools. Citizen science makes it possible to collect and analyze larger amounts of data, and to conduct research on topics that might otherwise not be adequately resourced.
