Answering ethical questions and making complicated decisions when using sensors for crowd monitoring? The Responsible Sensing Toolkit helps you step by step.

The use of sensors in public space can offer many advantages regarding urban innovation. But how can you take social norms and values as a starting point? Together with the Responsible Sensing Lab and the City of Amsterdam, CITIXL developed the Responsible Sensing Toolkit based on the joint experience and expertise within this group.

Within six steps the Toolkit takes you through the most important considerations and dilemmas that you encounter when using sensors in public space responsibly, which helps you to draw up a concrete plan for your project. The Toolkit offers a handy overview of all the tools that are available. Within each step of the Toolkit you’ll find videos made by experts that help you understand the material.

The Toolkit is available in both Dutch and English.
