The structure of openresearch.amsterdam is a semantic web. This means that there is no hierarchical structure, but that all articles are are linked to each other in various ways. Below, you can find the different ways in which you can use this structure to see the connections and to find the information you need.

Manuals for editors
Editors manage the substantive editing of one or more collections and project spaces on openresearch.amsterdam. They do this on behalf of a department, team or research group at one of the affiliated local authorities or knowledge institutions in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Within their collection, editors can add new articles, collections, and project spaces. They can also create accounts for new participants and stakeholders.

Manuals for participants
Participants are civil servants and researchers from knowledge institutions within the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. A participant account is created by an editor, who gives the participant access to a collection or project space. Within his own collection(s), a participant can create articles and further collections. In addition to the universally accessible (colored) layer, a participant also has access to the (red) layer, which only other participants have access to.

Manuals for stakeholders
Stakeholders are affiliated with one of the local authorities or knowledge institutions within the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. They are added to a private project space by an editor. They can only create and edit articles and collections within this project space. To publish this material freely on the internet, they need permission from their editor. Examples of those involved are employees of companies and social organizations and residents.
