Maarten de Jong

Epidemiologist & Researcher | Dep. Infectious Diseases

Maarten works on epidemiological issues and his PhD research which focuses on the use of sewage water monitoring to detect infectious disease outbreaks. He does this in both high-resource settings (Amsterdam region) and in low-resource settings (e.g. refugee camps): this way he bridges the gap between public health settings of GGD Amsterdam and Doctors Without Borders, for which he regularly works abroad.
