CLIMAA Amsterdam is a collaboration between Amsterdam Impact and MKB-Amsterdam.

The goal of Amsterdam Impact is to strengthen the ecosystem for all businesses addressing societal challenges through entrepreneurship. This ecosystem includes social enterprises, SMEs, financiers, civil servants, network organizations, and knowledge institutions. Amsterdam Impact also focuses on transitioning from a 'profit economy' to a 'well-being economy.'

MKB-Amsterdam advocates for the interests of SMEs at the local and regional political level. The organization maintains strong relationships with the Municipality of Amsterdam and has an extensive network of local entrepreneurs.

Through CLIMAA, Amsterdam Impact and MKB-Amsterdam have developed a program in three phases:

  1. Needs analysis and identification of measures and support.
  2. Co-creation for inspiration and capacity building.
  3. Identification of SMEs and setting up action plans.

In Amsterdam, this has led to 9 LGDs in which SMEs have entered into agreements with the Municipality of Amsterdam to make concrete commitments regarding sustainability, social impact, and good entrepreneurship. An example is the agreement with the Westergasfabriek to reduce waste streams, with support from the Municipality of Amsterdam.
