This report was produced in the context of an 8-week ACT (Academic Consultancy Training) project by students of Wageningen University.
The project focused on Urban Grassroots Food Initiatives in Amsterdam and aimed at understanding the visions, practices, and challenges of these initiatives, and how these relate to the doughnut economy ambitions of the municipality of Amsterdam. In addition to this report, the results are visualised in a zine and an interactive map that shows the geographic placement of the initiatives, as well as some relevant information such as their placement within the doughnut. -

This zine was produced in the context of an 8-week ACT (Academic Consultancy Training) project by students of Wageningen University.
The zine visualizes relevant information about UGFIs and their importance in relation to realizing the ambitions of the Doughnut Economy.
A zine is a “self-published, non-commercial print-work that is typically produced in small, limited batches” (“What is a Zine?” n.d.). Moreover, zines or DIY (do-it-yourself) magazines differ from traditional forms of media, given that they are usually hand-made through techniques such as drawings, collages, and handwritten information. -
