Equal opportunities in healthcare
The chances of a healthy life are not equally distributed in the Netherlands. It makes a difference to your health and life expectancy where you are born, where you live, what education you have had and how much you earn. At a local, regional and national level, efforts have been made for years to change this. So far without the health inequalities diminishing. In fact, they seem to be increasing. The social consequences of the corona crisis also contribute to this. People in a vulnerable social position are thus increasingly disadvantaged.
