Amsterdam Business Research Institute VU was founded in 2009 as a response to the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration’s increasing awareness of the importance business studies in the academic arena, as well as its growing influence on knowledge creation in the business district of Amsterdam Zuidas. Due to its success, ABRI-VU expanded its activities and now works closely with other faculties and universities, and therefore dropped VU from its name. As of June 2010 ABRI-VU is known as ABRI.
