Student and Society in Dialogue 2023

This event is part of Science with Society: a project in which residents, health organizations, policy makers and students and scientists come together to develop and share knowledge about complex societal issues.


In November and December 2023, students of the VU-course Interdisciplinary Community Service Learning (iCSL1) spoke with residents of different neighborhoods about themes such as loneliness and community. They also interviewed OBA employees and, through this, examined how the OBAs connect to the residents, or how this connection can be improved.

The students used the conversations with residents and OBA employees as input for their artworks that they made in collaboration with SAMA. These artworks represent the connection between neighborhoods and the OBAs or a community feeling, for example. Watch the video below to see how the students made these artworks:
