International Collaborative of Prospective Studies of HIV and Hepatitis in IDU
Het in kaart brengen van de incidentie en risico factoren van HIV en/of HCV infectie en het (natuurlijk) beloop van een HCV en HIV mono- of co-infectie bij druggebruikers.
De Amsterdamse Cohort Studie (ACS) onder druggebruikers is partner van INC3 (International Collaboration of Incident HIV and Hepatitis C in Injecting Cohorts) bestaande uit 11 cohorten van verschillende landen (U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH NIDA grant).
Dit internationaal multi-cohort consortium brengt onderzoekers uit Australië, Canada, VS en Nederland samen. Elk jaar worden gegevens van de 11 cohorten ‘gepoold’; de laatste update heeft in 2014 plaatsgevonden. Het voornaamste doel van Inc3 is om de incidentie en risico factoren van HIV en/of HCV infectie en het natuurlijk beloop van een HCV en HIV mono- of co-infectie in kaart te brengen bij druggebruikers. De expertise van verschillende disciplines zoals epidemiologie, biostatistiek, virologie en immunologie worden gebundeld om de onderzoeksvragen te beantwoorden. De ACS heeft 48 HCV seroconverters en 126 HCV negatieve deelnemers van het cohort onder druggebruikers in deze internationale studie ondergebracht. GGD is binnen INC3 verantwoordelijk voor studies naar factoren geassocieerd met spontaan klaren (afgerond) en sterfte naar HCV chroniciteit status (uitgesteld
vanwege vertraging of ontbreken koppelen met sterfte registraties door de andere cohorten).
De INC3 studie liep van 2009-2016. Een vervolgaanvraag is ingediend waarvan de uitkomst in 2017 wordt verwacht.
