The Bachelor’s programme Computational Social Science (UvA) is positioned at the intersection of social sciences, humanities and information science. It includes theory, research methodology and statistics as well as programming and change-making skills. Students will become specialised in sustainable digital interventions for complex societal challenges (e.g. issues regarding digital surveillance and global health). Students will do so through semester-long group projects that combine and apply all the skills and knowledge of the programme, often tackling real problems in consultation with actual project partners and societal stakeholders.
