The Netherlands is one of the five European countries with the most construction and demolition waste a year (JRC European Commission, 2011). The Netherlands aims for the policy to develop a circular economy by 2050. The building sector, the biggest energy, and natural resources user, is responsible for 36.4 % of the total waste generation. for more than 35% of the global final energy use and for nearly 40% of energy-related CO2 emissions (Eurostat European Commission, 2017).
