Founded in 1987, Tinbergen Institute (TI) is the graduate school and research institute in economics, econometrics and finance of the Erasmus School of Economics of Erasmus University Rotterdam, the School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Amsterdam.

The TI Research Institute aims to stimulate fundamental and applied research in economics at the three participating universities and to organize an excellent research training environment for the institute’s research master students. The research programme consists of eight fields, covering the whole spectrum of economic analysis, from theoretical to empirical research and econometric methods,
