The redevelopment of the neighborhood park. A vegetable garden initiative from residents in the neighborhood. Placing windmills within the municipal boundaries of Amsterdam. These are topics where the municipality of Amsterdam works on the city together with residents. We call it participation. Does this participation always go well? Certainly not. That is why the municipality has a participation ordinance. Rules of the game, in fact, laying down what residents and entrepreneurs can expect from the municipality when it comes to participation. But we do not want such an ordinance to remain just fine words on paper. The art is in the doing. Because how do you do that well, working together in participation? We still have a lot to learn together. About what works really well and what clearly does not. And what is needed. We will work with these questions in the Participation Workshop. Here, residents, civil servants and administrators develop a learning program together to learn to participate better. Our first step? We are building a learning program for civil servants, administrators and residents. So that together - while learning - we can become better and better at participation. Build with us?

The Participation Workshop is an initiative in which active residents and the City of Amsterdam learn, work and build towards better participation.
