City Rhythms – A Research Biography

A documentary by Rinus Bot (director and producer)

The Exploratory Research City Rhythm (2016-2017) created the first foundations of rhythm methodologies for understanding neighbourhoods and their social context through identifying and analysing dynamics in physical and data domains. This preliminary study continues its explorations with the research project Designing Rhythms for Social Resilience (2018-2022). The unique programme of both research projects engages researchers, designers, artists and policy makers to develop new rhythm-based methods and definitions. In this movie, the research collaborators reflect on the impact of rhythm study and thinking in science, design and arts.
