Startup in Residence is an innovative collaboration between the City of Amsterdam and startups. The programme invites Dutch and international startups to devise innovative solutions to social issues. Since its initiation in 2015, five successful programmes have been realized. Preparations for the next programme in the beginning of 2020 are in full swing.
The Programme offers startups an intensive training programme, as well as the support of professional coaches or mentors. The startups will also be provided with working space and have access to the municipality’s network.
If solutions prove successful, the City will invest in them as an investor or launching customer and thereby significantly kick-start the startup’s career. The City seeks to work with (starting) businesses in a transparent manner to translate good ideas into solutions to social challenges.
