Femke Haccoû (uit dienst)

Femke Haccou (1981) studied Spatial Planning (Bsc.) and Landscape Architecture (Msc.). She started her career at the Alterra Research Institute of Wageningen University. But found her passion in working for the City of Amsterdam. Her fascination for cities, design, social media and people, moved her expertize towards design thinking processes. User-centred designing public spaces and parks made her aware of the virtual layer of the city and the potential of this layer. She led the Amsterdam submission of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge 2014 to the finals with Play2Work Europe [ An on- and offline platform that matches vocational educated youngsters to the labour market on a gamified and personal way]. January 2015 she started as Urban Innovation Officer at the CTO office (Chief Technology Officer) the CTO team is responsible for connecting knowledge institutes, businesses, citizens and government to develop, test and scale innovative solutions for urban issues. Femke’s focus is on Social Digital Innovation, Sharing Economy and Interactive Democracy.
In October 2019 she started as program developer at AMS Institute to kickstart the AMS Academy for Professional Education. The AMS Academy will contribute to the challenge to reinvent cities for the future. In this Academy Scientific knowledge and Professional experience in Urban experimentation is combined to train people in their own teams, their own cases with new ways of working. Hereby she wants to contribute by making a learning environment as workingmethod that makes implementation of urban innovation possible.
Besides her work for the City of Amsterdam she is a passionate home cook, lover for long beachwalks with her dog Kobus and proud mom of her daugther Kato.
