Openness of information and the City of Amsterdam
In this collection you will find policy documents from the municipality of Amsterdam in relation to public access and the Dutch Open Government Act.
Since May 1st 2022, the Open Government Act (Woo) has replaced the Dutch Freedom of Information Act (Wob). With the latter, anyone could request information about the tasks of the government by means of a so-called Wob-request. The Woo goes further and also obliges the government to make information public pro-actively. At the municipality of Amsterdam, passive public access and active open access are being tackled simultaneously, together with the necessary activities to putting information management in order.
