AI, Media and Democracy Lab
An ethical legal societal laboratory focused on the implications of AI for media and democracy
There cannot be a democracy without a healthy media landscape, there is no free media without a democracy, and the media cannot function without technology.
The AI, Media, and Democracy Lab is a collaboration between interdisciplinary groups to anticipate tomorrow’s issues and spread this knowledge. The lab is a consortium between AI technology for people, University of Amsterda,, Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
At the lab you can find a place: (1) To apply, test, challenge and translate the insights and results of multidisciplinary research into services. (2) For the (creative) imagination about the changes, and transformations, that AI and digital technologies will bring to the media and democracy. (3) To the important question of it what exactly means to make responsible use of AI in the media and democracy. And what legal, socio-technical and economic conditions are needed for this to function. (4) Support Dutch and other local media companies in creating customer experiences in (cross) media design.
