D6.4.5: Policy brief upscaling potential and benefits of blue-green roofs
the findings of the RESILIO project for Amsterdam show that there is considerable potential
for upscaling blue-green roofs in the city. Together, these roofs can contribute meaningfully to various
urban challenges such as pluvial flooding or biodiversity when designed and operated properly.
However, except for rare exceptions, it will in most places be a piece of a larger resilience strategy
that also addresses other measures and issues. The survey also shows a promising willingness to pay
from citizens, illustrating that it is a topic and solution that has some support from citizens.
