Dialogues Support Facility was launched in 2007 to improve bilateral relations and deepen structured sector dialogues in areas of mutual interest within the wider goal of building-up a strategic partnershipbetween the EU and Brazil.
Now in its fourth phase of implementation, covering the timeframe 2017-2019, the Facility strengthens its role in facilitating and supporting joint efforts to tackle global challenges.
The Facility is jointly coordinated by the Management Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy (ME), the Delegation of the European Union to Brazil (DELBRA) and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
What we do
The Sector Dialogues Support Facility has the scope of festering partnerships among Brazilian and European institutions, through projects which facilitate exchanges of experiences, knowledge and best practices, aiming at reinforcing political and technical dialogue around themes of mutual interest.
International partners, who are direct beneficiaries of the Facility, are the Brazilian Ministries and Federal Government Agencies and their corresponding EU General- Directorates and Agencies, which participate in specific dialogues.
Supported activities range from the exchange of information and best practices, the development of joint activities, approximating the cooperating parties within themes of strategic interest, which are a mutual priority.
Which activities are eligible for support
The Facility provides support in four areas:
- Preparation of studies in order to develop issues addressed in the Dialogues and / or seek better understanding of the policies and programmes adopted by each of the parties.
- Specialised technical assistance in performing tasks to deepen the topics addressed in the Dialogues and exploit the achieved results. Experts can be contracted through the Facility, for the elaboration of studies, technical assessments, strategic plans and actions plans, capacity building activities, evaluation of results, among others.
- Logistics support for technical missions, both in Europe and/or in Brazil.
- Logistics support for the organisation of events and publishing, within the Sector Dialogues.
