Lessons learned from Access to Employment and MHPSS approaches in the Netherlands, Ethiopia and Jordan
The Verwey-Jonker Institute facilitated an (online) exchange between organizations in the Netherlands and Ethiopia (in the field of access to work) and organizations in the Netherlands and Jordan (in the field of mental health and psychosocial support). Amongst the participants of the exchange were those involved in the Qualifications Employment prospects for refugees and host communities in Ethiopia Program (QEP) in Ethiopia and those involved in the case management program of IMC in Jordan. In the Netherlands professionals involved in the Amsterdam approach were involved, as well as those involved in the PM+ approach of New Home Rotterdam (SNTR).
In addition, the Verwey-Jonker undertook a literature study of available knowledge on interventions in the Netherlands with regards to Access to Employment and MHPSS and it identified good and interesting examples. This resulted in three publications: the full report “Successful elements in refugee support and learning through exchange” and the two additional reports “Learning through international exchange” and “Successful elements in refugee support”.
