City Deal Kennis Maken
De inzet van de City Deal Kennis Maken (CDKM) is om een versnelling tot stand te brengen in het oplossen van maatschappelijke opgaven van steden door onderzoekers, docenten en studenten hierbij grootschalig te betrekken. De betrokken steden, kennisinstellingen en andere partners beschouwen dit enerzijds als een vorm van kennisbenutting en anderzijds als het aanbieden van de stad als leeromgeving voor studenten. Centraal in de City Deal staan talentontwikkeling, ondernemerschap én het stimuleren van maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. Amsterdam neemt deel aan deze City Deal, net als Nijmegen, Delft, Enschede, Groningen, Leiden, Maastricht, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht en Wageningen.
In deze collectie treft u o.a. meer (achtergrond) informatie over het ontstaan van de City Deal, dat o.a. is geïnitieerd door het Netwerk Kennissteden Nederland. Dit initieerde het netwerk bij Agenda Stad, dat onderdeel is van ministeries Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap en Binnenlandse Zaken. Sinds de oprichting in 2017, is de CDKM ondergebracht bij het Regieorgaan SIA, dat o.a. de projecten financiert.
U leest hier ook hoe de gemeente Amsterdam sinds de toetreding invulling heeft gegeven aan de Deal en bij welke andere City Deals de stad nog meer betrokken is. Tot slot treft u een overzicht van alle leermiddagen die zijn georganiseerd om het landelijke netwerk van de CDKM handvatten te bieden voor de volgende fase van opschaling. -

Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA) is the expert interface between Amsterdam-based academic institutions and parties interested in their research findings and knowledge, such as companies, educational institutions, investors, health care providers, entrepreneurs, government bodies and societal organisations. Being an interface, IXA deploys its expertise in both directions: assisting researchers in generating societal and economic impact from their work and assisting external parties in navigating the academic landscape to find a solution or spot an opportunity.
IXA is an expertise centre, helpdesk and liaison all in one.
IXA was created by the partnership of the Academic Medical Centre, University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, VU University Amsterdam, VU University Medical Center and is supported by the City of Amsterdam and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and is a partner of the Amsterdam Economic Board, the Amsterdam Science Park and the Amsterdam Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Green IT Amsterdam
Green IT Amsterdam makes the energy transition possible with IT for the Amsterdam region. Our mission is to scout, test and showcase innovative IT solutions for increasing energy efficiency and decreasing carbon emissions. As our society is constantly relying more and more on IT, urgency for sustainability keeps increasing. Moreover, IT can play a key role in making the change from fossil energy into renewable energy, the energy of the future and for the future.
We share knowledge, expertise and ambitions, for achieving these sustainable targets with our public and private Green IT Leaders. We do this by greening IT and IT support in optimizing various sectors of the Green Economy in the Amsterdam region.
The City of Amsterdam is aiming to reduce carbon emission in 2025 by 40%. In addition, the City increased their target for producing renewable energy by 20%. Green IT emerged from the need to bring IT specialists and energy specialists together to achieve these goals. With Greening of IT we prepare for the continued growing demand for IT in the future by minimizing its energy costs. And with Greening by IT we make it possible to achieve current societal challenges by providing Smart City services that support future-ready, stable and scalable infrastructures.
The network now consists of around 28 leading organizations on sustainable IT infrastructures in various sectors including IT, engineering and energy. This network is complemented by establishing active alliances with other key partners from:
- Regional public organizations for the facilitation of local implementation processes
- National and international organizations for ensuring a level playing field
- Networking organizations with expertise in specific application areas
Until now, this active cooperation has enabled the development of 18 projects that resulted in:
- Demonstrating that the Amsterdam IT sector is a front runner on realizing sustainable IT infrastructures
- Reinforcing the economic capacity of the Amsterdam industry
- Initiating activities to create a more sustainable society

Amsterdam Young Academy
Amsterdam Young Academy (AYA) is an independent platform where talented young scientists from different disciplines meet to develop views on science, scientific policy and how to build bridges between science and society in Amsterdam. Amsterdam Young Academy is an initiative of the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universtiteit and was officially launched on November 6th, 2018.
