LGBTQ+
Dossier openresearch
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer. The plus represents people who identify themselves differently. Much research has been done on these diverse communities, for example in relation to topics such as healthcare, the media, religion, migration, safety, politics, built environment, et cetera. In this file you will find three collections: 1) LGBTQ+ - here the editors collect articles that deal with LGBTQ+ communities. Most studies are about Amsterdam, long named as the gay capital of Europe, but some are also about the Netherlands. 2) Pride - This collection collects materials about Pride Amsterdam, discussing the complexity and challenges of the event and the involvement of various parties in it. Also included are articles discussing the forms of manifestations and protests of LGBTQ+ communities in other European countries. 3) Rainbow Policy - This collection contains policy documents and research reports from the City of Amsterdam around the issues of LGBTQ+ communities. Issues such as diversity, inclusion, anti-discrimination, street harassment are addressed in these materials.
