Catalog - Stuff (English)

The history of cities can be written in thousands of ways. With Stuff, this photographic catalog of archaeological finds, the river Amstel is given a voice in the historical imagination of Amsterdam. The Amstel was, in the past more than now, the artery, the central axis, of the city. In the center, on the Damrak and the Rokin, archaeologists were literally given physical access to the riverbed thanks to the construction pits that were dug for the major infrastructure project of the North/South line in 2003-2012. With 11.279 photos, Stuff offers an image summary of what was found in the Amstel near the Damrak and the Rokin.

In this collection, all chapters from the Stuff catalog can be found separately.
