City Council May 29, 2024

Amsterdam's electricity grid will have to be considerably reinforced in the coming decades. This requires radical adjustments: 29 new substations will be built at 23 locations, with associated cable connections. And 12 existing substations will also be substantially reinforced. How, where and when the adjustments can take place is described in this 'Development Framework Electricity Supply Amsterdam 2035'. Protocol with the process to arrive at substations. This protocol describes an accelerated spatial integration and connection with the zoning procedure. It is a manual and roadmap for project managers of the City of Amsterdam, TenneT, Liander, and the Port of Amsterdam.
