Investigation Committee Moral Behavior Municipal Officials (1942-1958)

City Council Amsterdam 1 December 2021

"Shoud someone like that work here?"

The City of Amsterdam commissioned research into the conduct of the Amsterdam Assessment Committee for Good Moral Behavior Municipal Employees between 1912 and 1959. The investigation was about how the assessments of the committee were made and to what extent there was discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender and origin, among other things. The results, with an accompanying letter from the Council, were presented to the Amsterdam City Council on 8 June. Here you will find the research results regarding the
functioning of the Amsterdam assessment committee for Good Moral Behavior of Municipal Civil Servants (1942-1958), in which a link is also made to current policy.
