The Toeslagenaffaire is a systemic failure in the Dutch welfare system where thousands of
families, which were primarily of migrant background, were wrongfully accused of fraud
without any due process, revealing deeper structural issues of institutional bias,
administrative negligence, and political accountability.

This report introduces various concepts and discusses how they relate to the toeslagenaffaire. Besides, it provides a reflection of the interactive event the students held at the end of the course during the Science With Society Festival.
