The Regenboog Gemeente in Amsterdam is an inclusive religious community addressing the rising issue of loneliness in a secular urban society. While rooted in faith, the church attracts both religious and non-religious individuals through social programs like shared meals, support groups, and language classes. These initiatives offer emotional support, build social cohesion, and foster a sense of belonging—especially important as traditional social networks weaken. The project highlights how religious institutions can serve as "third places" and civic actors that enhance mental well-being and community resilience. Visibility and recognition from funders remain challenges due to the faith-based nature, emphasizing the need for narrative reframing.
