During the kick-off session of the rhythm research in Amsterdam Zuidoost, trash in the public space was chosen as one of the top 4 issues by the neighbourhood teams that have an impact on the social safety of the residents. Trash has an effect on how the residents perceive, feel attached to and negotiate trust in their environments. Our research looked at how trash emerges in the neighbourhoods, with the hypothesis that different urban rhythms influence the creation of trash as well as cleanliness.
