Visit DG ENVI - Session 1 - Water
On the 8th and 9th of June the Deputy Director General Environment Patrick Child of the European Commision visited Amsterdam. The visit was sorted in three session, each with a different host and theme.
In this collection you can watch back the visit that was hosted by Waternet at the Rioolwaterzuivering (RWZI) Hostermeer. They are one of the waste water treatment plants of the Netherlands and are specialized in micropolutants. The participants in this session were Waternet, Port Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS-Institute). -

Visit DG ENVI Session 3 - Concepts for Biodiversity
On the 8th and 9th of June the Deputy Director General Environment Patrick Child of the European Commision visited Amsterdam. The visit was sorted in three session, each with a different host and theme.
In this collection and session the central question was: Which concepts can you use for biodiversity in the city? In this collection you can watch back the visit that was hosted by IAS. This visit entailed a special session with Patrick Child, The VU and the City of Amsterdam to discuss Biodiversity in the City. In an open discussion some of the topics that were touched upon were; the instruments, concepts and conditions that can ensure a successful ecological transition in the city. Additionally it was discussed how EU regulation can support this ecological transition and where EU regulation might hamper current activities and ambitions.In this collection you will find:
